No Man's Land	Front line	Last Voyage

Painting on the side 1953 - 1954
While being trained to be a Military Inspector in Weert, Jan Montyn uses his spare time to draw and paint. Occasionally he even sells his art works.

Restoration work 1954 - 1957
As part of his job as curator of the grenadier regiment of guards' museum, Jan Montyn restores many art works. In 1957 he is commissioned by a German museum to restore a painting of Van Ostade.

Experimental prints 1962
While living in Morocco and the Sahara , Jan Montyn makes experimental prints in colour. In the Sahara Jan Montyn lives with the Berbers, where he makes and sells art works.

Macro-etchings 1963
During an exhibition in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam Jan Montyn's first macro-etchings in colour are exhibited.

Art made in Salernes 1964 - 1968
During four years of isolation Jan Montyn makes etchings and paintings. Slowly but surely his art works increase in popularity, especially in Paris, France.

Household name 1975 - TODAY
With regular expositions in The Netherlands and France, complemented with expositions in other countries like Morocco, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Curacao, Finland, Luxemburg, Cuba and Japan, Jan Montyn is becoming a household name. In 1975, Jan Montyn 'goes USA '. In many places across the USA his art works are exhibited.

Design work 1984
Jan Montyn is requested to design the cover of the 1984 catalogue "Maitres Graveurs Contemporain 1984" of Galerie Berggruen, Paris . The cover will be named "Rocks of Heaven".

Catalogue 1991
The Artist Gallery in Bangkok publishes a catalogue of Jan Montyn's art works.
